Do your research

You don’t need any degree or diploma, but to be nationally recognized as a personal trainer, you need the Certificate III and IV in Fitness. The Certificate III in Fitness is for those who want to be gym instructors and host organized classes. On the other hand, the Certificate IV in Fitness allows you to become a personal trainer. However, having both certificates can often make you more employable, and there are many discounts for those who opt to train for both. It also gives you more options in the future, if you ever choose to do more. 

Choose your method

Once you do your research, you need to decide which learning method suits you best. For instance, if you do have a full-time job at the moment, or if you have to take care of your kids, taking online classes might offer you the flexibility you need. However, if you can’t really focus in your home environment, you should choose the face-to-face option. You also need to know how much different courses cost and if there are any discounts you could use.
